The 2020 Mission 1865 campaign officially wrapped on March 1st. As a result of our efforts in conjunction with our community partners, we were able to accomplish all goals set out for #Mission1865.
Teacher Contest: During the entire month of February, we requested that teachers nationwide upload their BHM classroom decorations to our DTLR page for a chance for win a school supply shopping spree and party for their class. We received over 100 submissions and will be awarding 14 teachers in late March! Search #Mission1865 on Instagram to see the 2020 submissions.
Field Trips: We were able to sponsor the "Degrees b4 Diapers" mentoring group with GYRLS In Da Hood Foundation in Chicago. DTLR...
In an effort to support our communities that suffer from low to no access to fresh produce, we partnered with local organizations/communities to provide items otherwise under accessible.
We purchased up to 100,000 pounds of fresh produce from local grocers in Dallas, Atlanta, Detroit and Miami and set up a makeshift "farmer's market" in under served neighborhoods. Local organizations also partnered with us to distribute turkeys and other items.
We launched on November 20 and for a whole week our team traveled to each city listed to distribute items. Through this initiative we were able to feed 1000 families in 4 of our markets.
