CIAA Education Celebrations

East Baltimore

To kickoff the week long festivities, DTLR community invited the CIAA Kings & Queens to a local green space in East Baltimore for a day of community service. Sounds provided by DTLRs and Baltimore's own the Legendary DJ Scottie B, awakened the Bethel Farm neighborhood as the group prepared to clear debris and turn soil to prepare the space for its future spring garden. Special thank you to Baltimore City Recreation and Parks and the Mayors Office for allowing us to bring in some helping hands.

Mid-week, DTLR community curated the vibe for this years CIAA High School Education day sponsored by the US Army ROTC. There were CIAA band/cheerleader performances, guests speakers and giveaways, various educational booths where students learned more about colleges and Army ROTC opportunities. We always celebrate those high schools that receive on site college acceptances and scholarships.

As we rounded out the week, we hosted a brunch & panel with the CIAA Kings & Queens at the local high school, Baltimore Polytechnic Institute, so that selected students could have the opportunity to have one-on-one conversations about leadership, service, conquering the higher learning and the overall college experience.
