The 2020 Mission 1865 campaign officially wrapped on March 1st. As a result of our efforts in conjunction with our community partners, we were able to accomplish all goals set out for #Mission1865.
Teacher Contest: During the entire month of February, we requested that teachers nationwide upload their BHM classroom decorations to our DTLR page for a chance for win a school supply shopping spree and party for their class. We received over 100 submissions and will be awarding 14 teachers in late March! Search #Mission1865 on Instagram to see the 2020 submissions.

As the NBA season is upon us, DTLR takes this time to create an opportunity for NBA players to give back to their hometowns or team cities. For the seventh consecutive year the DTLR Basketball Buck$ initiative gives players the opportunity to show off on the court and off. Here's how the program works:
- Based on a players position, their rebounds, assists and points are tracked for the duration of the season by DTLR and the school of the players choice
- At the end of the season those numbers are tallied up and matched to a dollar amount (DTLR provides these dollars)
- That amount is then presented in a check ceremony and donated to a school of the players choice at the end of the seaso...

Schools & Organizations with students within Homestead, Florida City & the Redlands received shoe vouchers to attend a shoe drive that provided new shoes to children in need post back-to-school at DTLR Homestead. At our Grand Rapids, Michigan store we hosted “Just Cure it”, an event that raises awareness to the Immunodeficiency disease Sickle Cell. This cause hits close to home our DTLR/VILLA Grand Rapids assistant manager Faustino “Redd” Garcia, as his two sons struggle with the disease.
DTLR provided food, desserts, live music by Dj Seven Eights and health experts from The Sickle Ccell Awareness foundation. Customers not only got the opportunity to shop, fill their stomachs and also fill their minds with priceless information on how to be proactive and get the proper test and screening for Sickle cell!
Leah Still was diagnosed with Stage 4 Neuroblastoma in 2014, and since then her family has been in the fight to find a cure. DTLR spent time with Leah in the Christiana Mall location after her 5th Annual Walks With Leah 5k event. We were honored to have her as a Sales Associate working for a couple hours in our store. DTLR supports the youth in all ways possible to promote good health physically but most importantly mentally!
A new youth football and cheer program in West Baltimore got a special treat at their first Homecoming day from DTLR. The Community Outreach team pulled up with giveaways and water to get the youth through the hot, but exciting day. The Lady Ravens Cheer squad got an extra special surprise, as their Homecoming breakfast spread was sponsored by DTLR! Needless to say the day was filled with family, fun, football and community!!
DTLR x Nike partnered up to launch the "Run For Life" Campaign and DTLR Run Club. On the corner of the E. Monument store location in Baltimore, DTLR set-up a mini block party to get the community out and engaged in this campaign to promote health, wellness and unity. This campaign will also provide a positive outlet for city residents to be a part of something progressive and beneficial to their own well being. Nike provided free trials of their upcoming running shoe, the Joyride, to those that came out to the event and DTLR provided activities and mapped out a one mile run around the community in the Joyride shoe to officially kick things off.
